of Property Management
The name Crispr is intentional. Just as CRISPR technology edits and corrects faulty genetic code, Crispr Property Management was invented to identify, correct, and replace the outdated processes and systems that have long plagued the property management industry.
The industry had a problem: firms were operating without documented processes, without checklists, and without the human oversight needed to ensure proper checks and balances. The result was inconsistency, missed details, and a one-size-fits-all approach that failed owners and tenants alike.
Crispr was built on a different premise — that every property is a unique asset deserving a tailored strategy, executed through disciplined systems and accountable people. Not templates. Not guesswork. A living, optimized operating model that evolves with each property.
Bruce Cumming spent 15 years in private equity, where his work centered on a singular discipline: asset optimization and value creation. Across that career he observed a consistent gap — even well-capitalized real estate portfolios were underperforming because the day-to-day management layer was undisciplined, reactive, and opaque.
He founded Crispr to close that gap. The same rigor applied to institutional asset management — data-driven decisions, documented processes, performance accountability — now applied at the property level for every client Crispr serves.
